2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

A Bordeaux soul, with a New World twist, our 2015 Lucky Frog Cabernet Sauvignon displays bright notes of green bell peppers, cassis and vanilla, wrapped by smooth tannins that give it a silky texture, a pleasant mouthfeel and a gracious finish.

Leaner and meaner than most Californian cabs, this wine is the ideal complement to meats and pastas, as well as a solid sipping wine for fans of hearty reds.

About Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the world's most respected, grown and consumed wines it is a featured grape in Napa and Bordeaux.  "Cabs" from Napa are more fruity than those from Bordeaux.  The style you will find here is more Old World with greater notes that are herbaceous reminiscent of bell peppers while still providing those fruit forward aromas and notes.

About the terroir

At the foothill of the Andes, in Mendoza, there is a region integrated by Luján de Cuyo, Maipú, Godoy Cruz and Guaymallén.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is from Barracas, located in Maipú the weather is slightly warmer. This accounts for softer and more mature wines. The arid weather is cooled down by the effects of the altitude and intense sunlight exposure during the day. Soils are deep and alluvial with sand, silt and clay; they allow the vine to extend its roots, improving its strength and health.

About lucky Frog

The Huarpe Indians inhabited the Andes, and large areas such as the wine growing regions leading up to them, during the Pre-Columbian era.  They revered Mama Quilla, the moon, as it was the deity in the sky that gave re-birth every night.  In the moon, they would see the image of a frog which became a symbol of water, fluidity, happiness, good fortune and life.
